You heard it first here – only 4 days after its release, Hannibal has entered the UK bestseller charts at No. 7!! Woo hoo!
It’s absolutely brilliant news, and it’s all down to you, my wonderful readers. So a heartfelt thank you to you all. I raise my beer to every last one of you. As we say in Ireland, “Slainte!”
Attalus says
Great news, Well done! It was a great read and already looking forward to the next installment!
Parmenion says
A beer to every reader…who is scraping you off the floor in the morning…LOL
The very best of congratulations…its very much deserved.
benkane says
@Attalus: thank you! Got to write the second book now…
benkane says
@Parmenion: thank you very much. I’ve called it a day at two pints (shock! horror!) because I have a big day tomorrow, out and about, visiting no less than nine (9) Waterstone’s with three other historical writers. Will be a busy one, and I’ve no need of a hangover. You’re a wise man not to imbibe at all.
John Salter says
Excellent news well done Ben. I’ve got less than a hundred pages to go, great read.
John Salter says
Read, enjoyed totally, reviews on Amazon Ben, great book.
Gladiator says
Haha i swear your books are infectious so im not surprised really but a thats awesome anyway. Im still reading The Silver Eagle but im defo going to read Hannibal. Well done anyway ๐
Parmenion says
@Ben: I have rolled in from many a night in the past, and really put my half Irish side to the test in years past… Im no longer allowed the booze (pesky medication) but i will admit i dont miss the morning after. I remember (or dont) taking 4 hours to get home from St Paddys day…the pub was only 800 meters from my front door!!!…. (never worked that one out).
benkane says
@John: thanks a million! I’m delighted that you enjoyed it so much! ๐
benkane says
@Gladiator: Thanks a lot!
benkane says
@Parmenion: At least you gave the Irish half its time in the sun! That 800 metres sounds like Hannibal’s epic journey over the Alps. I’ve never done that, no never… ๐
Norabatiatus says
Another fine novel, well worthy of all the fine reviews, roll on Spartacus.
benkane says
@Norabatiatus: thanks a million! Spartacus at 135k words, and nearing its end – at least until book two… ๐
BigRomanGeneral says
I have recently finished your Hannibal book and it was excellent – a gripping read and a true page turner. Am looking forward to the next installment.
benkane says
@BigRomanGeneral: welcome to my site, and thanks for posting! Cheers for your good wishes too – I’m delighted that you enjoyed it. Afraid you’ll have a bit of a wait for part two – but two volumes of Spartacus in 2012 will hopefully keep you entertained!
plato says
Hi Ben (parthianbow) we met at History in the Court, (I had on the Kilt) I have read all your published books and cannot get enough,
I have just finnished Spartacus The Gladiator,(on my Kindle, hard copy back at home ordered twice) what can I say fantastic, Hannibal Brilliant, The Lost Leigion superb (oh god I sound like a sycophant) can you tell me why you have started 2 different series at the same time, and when is the second Hannibal book out.
Ben Kane says
@plato: Hi, and thanks for posting on my site. Welcome! Cheers for buying so many of my books – I’m delighted that you like them so much.
Why have I started two different series at the same time? Because I felt that Spartacus was a hot topic, and if I didn’t write about him, someone else would!
The second Hannibal book is provisionally due out early next year…I hope you can wait that long!
