Listen again to Open Book with Mariella Frostrup – and me!

16 January 2012 by Ben Kane 10 Comments

If you’re interested, you can listen to the programme here. There’s a little section that’s read out right at the beginning, and if you want to ‘fast-forward’ to hear me, go to about 12 minutes 25 seconds. Enjoy!

    Thanks Ben, it was really nice to listen to you ! A little bit too short for my taste but great nonetheless.

    Interesting Ben. By the way ‘off topic’ I saw War Horse in London last night at the theatre and thoroughly enjoyed it. Mr Spielbergs version this weekend at the cinema!

    @John: glad you liked War Horse – I wasn’t expecting the singing either (I think you mentioned that on the HWA forum) and normally that would put me off SO much, but it didn’t in the case of War Horse. Brilliant stuff.

    Ben, to be honest I actually enjoyed the singing, which is odd because I don’t normally like musicals. I think because it was topical and relevant to the performance, it helped make it. I actually bought the soundtrack on the way out!

    Then again I also bought the singers own CD thinking it would be all that type of music but it wasn’t, don’t think I’ll be listening to it again, it’s all about shipyards, steel, people dying and others losing their jobs!

    PS. Launch day tomorrow, good luck. I hope the sales go well.

    @John: yes, I too normally hate musicals, but WH worked somehow.

    Cheers for your good wishes!

    Hi Ben,

    Received my copy of Spartacus today from Amazon and i have torn myself away from it to say I love it already. The opening few pages really set the scene, and, i imagine, of what is to come and I expect I will now have a long day tomorrow through wanting to get back to reading the book and lack of sleep!

    What a week it’s been for you Ben! – what with Radio 4 and last night’s launch. I’m just so glad it’s all gone so well – Mike.

    @tom: Many thanks – I hope you’re still enjoying it! I did do one signing in London, last week. It was on my events page. Sorry you didn’t see it. Keep an eye out for London in August…

    @Mike: Cheers!
