Spartacus will march again; Blood & Sand season 2 preview

26 July 2011 by Ben Kane 6 Comments

Some great news – I hope – is that Spartacus is to be filmed again for Hollywood. Apparently, it’s to stick much more with history than Kubrick’s iconic but flawed work starring Kirk “I am Spartacus” Douglas. Fingers crossed bigtime that it’s what we all hope for. And that it helps to pump up sales of my books! :-)Read about it here.

In other Spartacus news,

Liam McIntyre, the man who has replaced the excellent but ill Andy Whitfield, has been in action. Some pics of him, and a new trailer have been released by Starz. See the trailer here, and the pics here. What does everyone think about how he compares to Andy? I heard a rumour that Andy is now doing a lot better, which is fantastic news, but he won’t be returning to the series, sadly.

Excellent news, the more films of this genre, the better as far as I’m concerned! I bet it still has the, “I am Spartacus” line in it though! Talking of good films, I watched the first twenty minutes of The Eagle this morning before coming to work, brilliant, made me want to form a testudo!

Liam McIntyre does look like Andy Whitfield in some of those shots you’re right! Trouble is we’ve got to wait ages to see them on dvd, still something to look forward to eh?

The second season will be very interesting. Series 1 and the prequel were set in the confines of the ludus and now that they’ve escaped the show will have a different foundation. New Spartacus, completely different show. Fingers crossed it’s as good!!

I’m so looking forward to the new series ! Myself and my uncle were huge fans of the first, lets hope the new series will be just as fantastic. I’m a little sad that Andy wont be starring in this but its great news to hear that he’s getting better.
