Finally, finally, after what seems an eternity, my first three books have been made available on Amazon.com as ebooks. Hurrah! Chorus of trumpets! It’s been ages coming, and apologies to so many of you who wanted to buy them, but now you can. They will be available on Barnes & Noble in the next couple of days; ditto iTunes and for the Kobo ereader. In a great promo for the U.S. release of Spartacus: The Gladiator, The Forgotten Legion will be available until June for the snip price of $2.99.

It’s been too long…and some Housesteads news!
It’s been over a month since I posted here, for which my sincere apologies. After finishing Spartacus: Rebellion, my mind went blank for about ten days. I’ve not done such an intense period of writing (Boxing Day until Feb. 25th, 6 days a week, 10-14 hours a day) since writing The Forgotten Legion. The mental effort was worth it, however, as bar a bit of pruning, my editor gave the thumbs up to the book. It’s basically done now. [Read more…] about It’s been too long…and some Housesteads news!
Five weeks a bestseller!
Spartacus is still in the Sunday Times charts this week, albeit at No. 10. It’s been an incredible result so far – more than 12,000 hardbacks sold after 5 weeks in the Top Ten. Thanks so much to all of you who’ve made that possible!
This week was also when I handed in Spartacus: Rebellion to my editor as well. The last 30 pages were easy in a way to write, but very sad as well. It felt weird writing an aftermath as well. I’ve spent over a year in the company of Spartacus, and it felt very strange coming to the end of that. [Read more…] about Five weeks a bestseller!
Still a bestseller!
Last week, Spartacus slipped to No. 6 in the Sunday Times bestseller chart. I hoped that this week, it would remain in the Top Ten, but wouldn’t have been surprised if it had fallen out. Imagine my delight when I found out yesterday that it had climbed back up to No. 5! That’s another first for me. [Read more…] about Still a bestseller!
Inspiration – I’ll give you inspiration!
I often get asked where I get the inspiration for my books from. I’m not entirely sure a lot of the time, but there’s always a spark that starts a story off. I’ve been meaning for ages to have this sort of thing on the site, and this is hopefully the beginning lots more such posts. It’s just a few paragraphs about where the story of The Forgotten Legion came from. I hope you enjoy it. It’s at the bottom of this page.
Spartacus is No. 3!
After last week’s great news, things got even better as Spartacus climbed one place to reach No. 3 in the UK bestseller chart. It’s the highest position that I’ve ever reached, and it feels great! Thanks again to everyone who has bought the book, and propelled it to such heights. I also found a good review of it at Medieval Bookworm, which was cool.
The Guardian reviewed the audio version of The Forgotten Legion the other day, which was a surprise. Amazing the things that searching Twitter or Google can throw up! The article is here. There’s also a good mention of Robert Fabbri’s Vespasian, and Suetonius’ Twelve Caesars.
